Consisting of calcium carbonate, Travertine is formed around hot springs and in caves. It has a porous structure like a sponge. These pores are caused by gases that exist in their natural formation and then come out. It is generally known as a kind of marble, but it is distinguished from marble with its porous structure. It is a building material that has been used frequently since ancient times. Travertines have not undergone a formation process as long as marble and granites. It emerged before its formation was fully completed.
